  1. I have a retaining ring that has no holes etc to grip with pliers . it is spring steel and the ends of the ring simply end very close to each other. The ring fits into a groove in a small shaft in a door lock. I had to take the ring off to access the screws thart hold the knob on the inside to the lock set on the outside of the door. Now I cannot get thr ring backm on the shaft.. Any tricks?? the ring is about 3/4 inches in diameter but the ring material is about 1/16 inches wide.. Thanks MIKE
